Systematic review and meta-analysis of 85 controlled experimental trials.

What You Need to Know:

This study reviewed 85 different experiments with over 3,600 people and found that hypnosis consistently helped reduce pain, especially when the suggestions were directly focused on pain relief. People who were more open to hypnosis got the most benefit, but the overall takeaway was clear: hypnosis works, and it works well for managing pain.
